Motionspot supports healthcare providers, design teams and Trusts to deliver hospitals, clinics and community care settings that are accessible, welcoming and resilient. From new-build hospitals to refurbishments, we help create environments that meet complex user needs and provide dignity and independence for all.
Inclusion is essential to care
Healthcare environments are places of healing, connection and community. Inclusive design ensures every patient, visitor and staff member can use these spaces safely and comfortably. Our work supports Equality Act 2010 obligations, delivers NHS values of compassion and equity, and strengthens trust between healthcare providers and their communities.
Designing for every patient journey
We consider the diverse needs of patients, staff and visitors, including older people, disabled and neurodivergent users, and those from socially excluded groups. Our recommendations cover arrival points, wayfinding, reception areas, circulation routes, lighting and acoustics, step-free access to wards, and sanitary facilities. Outdoor and green spaces are also key to wellbeing and recovery.
Collaboration with patients and staff
We work alongside Trusts, architects, staff and patient groups to co-design solutions that reflect lived experience. Through workshops and design reviews across RIBA stages, we identify barriers early and ensure inclusive design principles are embedded in both process and outcome.
Building hospitals for the next 50 years
By aligning with client mission and values, sustainability principles and best practice standards, we help create facilities that are adaptable, equitable and future-ready. Inclusive design is a strategic investment in patient outcomes, staff wellbeing and long-term resilience.
