The Times’ Travel supplement recently featured a roundup of 10 great accessible holiday cottages (opens in a new tab) and we were delighted to see three of our wonderful clients included as well as receive a mention.
Below are extracts from the article.
The Old Club House, Isle of Wight
The design firm Motionspot creates beautiful living spaces for disabled people. That includes holiday homes such as this former clubhouse of the Royal Isle of Wight Golf Club in St Helens, now a National Trust cottage. Black-walled below a grey roof, it comes with a long veranda that’s great for birdwatching, and an enclosed garden. There’s a kitchen, but no wifi, and the three bedrooms include an en suite double, an en suite twin with an accessible shower room, and a single.

Mollett’s Farm, Suffolk
Mollett’s Farm dates from the 17th century, although its six cottages and studios are much more recent. Sleeping two in a double or twin room, the three studios are best for the less mobile. They are single-storey and feature spacious wet rooms, with lowered sinks. Each one also has a patio, as well as sumptuous Egyptian cotton bed linen. Feed the small farm’s chickens before visits to the nearby seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh or spend days birdwatching along RSPB Minsmere’s wheelchair-adapted trails.

Log Cabins at Hoe Grange, Peak District
Part of a working farm near Bakewell, Hoe Grange has glamping pods and a quartet of log cabins. The latter have been designed to provide easy access, with ramps to the door, level thresholds, wide doorways and spacious rooms for wheelchair-using guests. There are also whirlpool baths and log-effect fires. Three of the cabins — Rainster, Daisybank and the smaller Hipley — sleep four and have been graded at NAS Mobility Level 2.
